This is kind of hard. 100 meter dash.
The real challenge: do it 10 times without bursting into laughter.

Merry Christmas!
A couple of Christmases ago, I posted this Twisted Sister video as my way of getting everyone into the Christmas spirit.
Seeth's response was pretty cynical. I wonder if he's warmed to the genius of Dee Snider with his advancing years?

Captain Beefheart Dead at 69

Cartoonist and writer Matt Groening tells of listening to [Beefheart's] Trout Mask Replica at the age of 15 and thinking "that it was the worst thing I'd ever heard. I said to myself, they're not even trying! It was just a sloppy cacophony. Then I listened to it a couple more times, because I couldn't believe Frank Zappa could do this to me - and because a double album cost a lot of money. About the third time, I realised they were doing it on purpose; they meant it to sound exactly this way. About the sixth or seventh time, it clicked in, and I thought it was the greatest album I'd ever heard."
Yeah, well...I don't know about that. But I did like his Safe as Milk album.

The Good, the Bad, the Weird

Imagine a Korean kung fu remake of The Good the Bad and the Ugly. Now imagine that same movie with guns instead of kung fu and Ennio Morricone still does the soundtrack except he's from the distant future and John Ford, Sergio Leone, and Akira Kurosawa fucked the same movie camera and it birthed a fully functional cyborg filmmaker capable of making only the best movies possible, but then Michael Bay snuck up behind it and hit it in the head with a gratuitous explosion and it made The Good, the Bad, the Weird instead.
